Book a private jet in three taps.
We designed and built Flyblack's mobile booking platform: live access to its aircraft network, dynamic pricing, sub-second quotes, and a three-step booking flow. The interface keeps the machinery quiet and hands the trip to a concierge when software is no longer the better answer.

The brief
Flyblack wanted to be the fastest way to fly private in the world: not a marketplace, not a lead form, an actual product. The catch: private aviation runs on relationships, tail numbers, and phone calls at midnight. The industry’s “apps” were request forms wearing a black suit. Flyblack’s clients expected the opposite of friction, and the opposite of feeling like they were talking to a machine.

What we built
A native mobile app backed by a booking and pricing engine we built alongside it. The client picks two cities and a time; the platform reconciles live availability across a network of 3,000+ aircraft, prices the leg in real time, and returns a confirmable quote in under a second. Behind the calm interface: an availability graph, dynamic pricing, and a computer-vision pipeline that reads operator fleet documents and safety certificates so nothing enters the network unvetted.

The interface is deliberately restrained: one decisive primary action on every screen, a boarding experience that treats the client’s time as the scarcest thing in the transaction, and a human concierge one tap away for the moments that still deserve a person.

Why it worked
We treated “fast” as a safety-grade requirement, not a nice-to-have: quotes are cached optimistically, the availability graph updates on a live feed, and the whole flow degrades gracefully to the concierge when an aircraft falls through. The result is an app that keeps pace with a client who decides to fly on the drive to the airport, and a platform Flyblack’s own team can operate without a single 3am phone tree.
Triple-platinum safety standards, the newest aircraft, and a booking experience that finally matches the product it sells.

Our clients decide to fly with two hours' notice. The app had to be faster than the decision. Lateral built something that feels inevitable, and the responsiveness never once felt like software.
