The mobile product became a multi-year partnership.
Manual asked Lateral to deliver its flagship cross-platform mobile product. Shipping it on time and on budget expanded the work into a multi-year partnership across front end, backend architecture, mobile, AI integration, quality, and specialist consulting.

Where it started
Lateral was engaged to help Manual develop their flagship mobile product. We delivered an implementation that met expectations for time, budget and quality, and it set the foundation for everything that followed: a partnership built on results rather than on promises.
Impressed by those results, stakeholders expanded the collaboration into a multi-year partnership spanning front-end development, AI integration, QA/QC, backend architecture and mobile engineering.

A selection of our contribution
Flagship consumer mobile app. Cross-platform, built in JavaScript, React and Expo, so one team ships to both stores without maintaining two products.
Staff augmentation. Rapid scale across a complex technology stack, with senior engineers who read the codebase before rewriting it.
Expert consulting. Specialized work on architecture, quality practice and deep technology areas, brought in where depth mattered more than headcount.
On time, on quality, on budget
The mobile platform has been consistently on budget for over eighteen months. Every milestone is achieved on schedule, which is less a boast than a precondition: in a category where the product is someone’s health, a slipped release is a person who did not get their treatment reviewed this month.
Customer satisfaction is the cornerstone of every release. Rigorous testing, enhanced stability and user-driven features mean updates that raise the customer experience rather than merely changing it. Smart planning and resource management keep the core projects firmly on budget, with each feature executed for cost efficiency alongside the innovation.
Why the app matters clinically

People achieve 20% better results at six months when they engage with the app and the programme, not only the medication. The software is not a wrapper around a pharmacy. It is part of the treatment, and it is the part that has to keep someone coming back on a Tuesday evening in month four.
Impressed by the results, stakeholders expanded the collaboration into a multi-year partnership.
