Cognimates teaches children aged 7–14 about artificial intelligence. Working with MIT researcher Stefania Druga, we designed Nary, iBall, and Ninjat, three characters with expressions and movement a child can understand before they can explain the technology behind them.

How do you explain artificial intelligence to a seven-year-old?

We imagined six characters. Three survived.

Meet Nary, iBall and Ninjat.
A character is only alive once it moves.

Anger, happiness, joy, curiosity. A feeling a child can name.
From sketch to something that looks back at you.

In classrooms, with MIT researcher Stefania Druga.
