Vela Boatworks is bringing large-format 3D printing to boat building. We created the identity and brand system for a company that had to feel credible in the workshop and clear in the market: technical enough for the process, direct enough for the product.

Vela Boatworks prints boats. The brand had to make that read as a step forward for the category, not a shortcut.
One yellow, a grotesk paired with a serif, and a coordinate line that runs through everything from the box to the app.

Every purchase ships with a VR kit, so the owner can walk the deck before the print starts.
On the water the brand becomes an instrument. Speed, heading, fuel, and a recommended pace, in the same type.
